You are as real as they get Bob and while I don't read your ministerings "religiously", when I do, I get that sense that you have been granted a gift and you are using it and thus you are fufilling God's intent.
Thanks for sharing your time and thoughts with all of us and on the subject of "church" I would argue that a warm spot in the sun where one can hear the wind whisper and the birds sing is as much a church as anyone of us needs to be close to God.
Keep up the good work and rock on brother!

Groovy work bob! I was at the Darwin Day Dinner mentioned by your young photographer. We had a lovely time, and atoned for some of the anti-science sins of Midland's presidential progeny.

Dear Rev; Many thanks for your favorable review of our book! I am thrilled to say it is in over 800 libraries worldwide, now, and has sold over 10,000 copies; while that is not a blockbuster (i don;t care about the money, I just want to get the word out!) it is great to know it is a respectable number for our work.

You might enjoy my forthcoming book, 'The Fact of Evolution' (also on Prometheus website) which is just in final editing now and available I believe in May. The Top Ten Myths told, from our view, what evolution is not, but in this book I tell what it is. My logic is that evolution is simply the unintended consequence of the biological facts of replication, variation and selection, and ergo is itself an undeniable fact. My aim is to make that clear for the same wide audience.

Thanks for taking an interest in The Top Ten Myths -- I am thrilled to say it has even been translated into Italian!

Regards
Cameron

As I understand natural selection, those traits which occur through mutation and which contribute to survival and, perhaps, some amount of thriving are acquired and maintained. If we believe that adapting to our environment in a way that enables us to survive and thrive is a good thing, I would conclude that the process of natural selection does result in progress of a sort.

Enjoyed the SERMON: “My Shamanic Journey”. I remember as a kid in Ohio sitting infront of many a fire with friends. When I was older and at Kent State, I remember one fire where we having an "enhanced" experience, with much political discussion. Were we to be hunted for our ideas once Gov. Rhodes found out about us and how we so disagreed with the War in Vietnam and with the government on many other National issues? It was a very primative and fearful experience especially since this occured after the murder of my fellow students. That fearful experience however stood me in good stead when facing political challenges in my future. It has made it much easier to spot the Gov. Rhodes of this World. Sign me a fellow traveler.
"our need for narrative — the need to write the story of our own lives, to tell to others, to tell to ourselves." hmmm.... maybe this is what people dig about facebook's status question. It asks them to indulge in a thing their inner narrative is doing anyway.

poetry is out of fashion?

at least yoga is in.
